Your responsibilities as a Business Intelligence Engineer

As a Business Intelligence Engineer you are a member of an autonomous Scrum team, and responsible for developing, deploying and running your software on the BI platform. Your goal is straightforward: develop quick, scalable reporting solutions that really help the business with its decision-making process. You work in tandem with the business, cater solutions to its wishes, whilst leveraging scalability, performance and durability aspects. In short, together with your colleagues, you create and run the service oriented BI architecture.

Why you can become a driver of BI change

Because you’re an ambitious and pragmatic Engineer with a solid background (two years as a minimum) in Business Intelligence. Your BI-skills include dimensional modeling and ETL. You feel at home in Oracle and relational databases (SQL, PL/SQL, Big Query) and ‘breathe’ scalability. Java and Python skills are a big plus. You have a keen business instinct, coupled with excellent communicative skills. A mission-critical attitude, strong sense of ownership and the ability to tackle issues quickly are all essential. You like to stay a step ahead of the pack and want to become an ambassador of big data BI solutions.

Where you’ll work has one of the best work environments. From the casual atmosphere, to the invigorating energy of the building with its open spaces, to the overall high standard of professionalism. Our Scrum teams are autonomous and fully in charge of everything they deliver. We embrace innovation and new technologies. If you want to investigate and implement new techniques, go for it. And of course we have a Choose Your Own Device program for software engineers. We’re also interested in what makes you tick as a person, in your desires and ambitions, and what projects suit you best. And then there’s all of the other reasons, including our on-campus soccer field, hackathons, fitness facilities, games-room, and our Friday afternoon get-together with drinks at our own bar.
