Data Engineer We know you’re good with data, but can you engineer beaming smiles?
Where do you land?
Withing the Advertising department of Bol, we are team MAD (Measuring Advertising Data) where we deliver correct and meaningful data to all our teams and our partners / advertisers. The main goal is to create data pipelines from internal and external sources (like DV360, Google Ad Manager) to deliver consistent data entities and measuring behavior. With that we ensure data quality and deliver agnostic data products like attribution and audience segments.
You’ll land in a strong and highly motivated team – that will consist of the rockstar Data Engineers within bol, and working closely with our sisterteam Datagenics where they deliver services for audience segmentation.
Within the product we have multiple backend engineers, a Data Scientist, three Data Engineers (including you), a Machine Learning Engineer, a fullstack engineer and product managers and analysts.
Our team is the team that helps all the productteams within Avb to use the data in a consistent manner.
Your personality and contribution will be a very welcome (!) addition to this cross-functional team. Together, you deliver the entire product and realize end-to-end solutions.

We generate and collect an enormous amount of data. A veritable gold mine because we can use this data to help customers discover products that put beaming smiles on their faces. Can you make this happen?
At Advertising via bol, we continuously innovate our platform to delight customers with new inspirational experiences and help them discover products they would never find elsewhere. On our part, this requires processing and analyzing large volumes of customer data. Think millions of customers interacting with tens of millions of products, resulting in terabytes of data per day. Managing this quantity of data requires reliable and transparent data ingestion and processing pipelines. And it entails feeding accurate batch and real-time recommendations. What you do as a Data Engineer
- You process copious amounts of data: ingesting, cleaning, transforming, and visualizing
- You experiment with A/B-testing, offline evaluations, and online performance monitoring
- You take our engineering crafts to the next level: scaling, deploying and serving models for offline and real-time purposes
