Bol also collects and processes data that you provide in the context of the application through personal contact, telephone conversations and / or e-mail with employees of bol. In addition, bol collects and processes the data you enter when you register for a bol event.
What (categories of) information does
bol process for which purpose?
For processing your application
By applying for a job at bol, you grant bol permission to collect and process your information for the purpose of processing your application, which includes evaluating your eligibility and suitability for the job opening. In the event that bol offers you the job, your information will also be used to prepare the job offer and to start a screening process in order to assess your integrity. During the screening your identity document, educational history and work experience will be verified. In addition, we will ask you to sign an integrity statement and provide a certificate of good conduct. If the screening has a positive outcome and you accept our offer, bol will use your information to prepare your employment contract.
In order to process your job application, bol collects and processes the following information: first name, last name, phone number, e-mail address, information in your CV, your picture (if included), your motivation, whether you have an employment and/or residence permit (if applicable), possible other personal information that you submit to bol as part of your application (including the results of an online assessment) and finally, all other information that we are legally obligated to process.
For setting up a jobalert
When you set a jobalert on the careers.bol.com website, bol will use your information solely to send you your jobalert.
In order to set up a jobalert, bol collects and processes the following information: e-mail address, desired frequency of jobalerts, your field(s) of interest, years of employment and your education level.
For sending you an invitation to our events
When you register for a bol event, bol will process your name and e-mail address to invite you to this event and to send you information about this event. Bol can also use your contact details after the event to send you an evaluation form.
For analysis purposes
The personal information mentioned above, plus the information you provide to us about your gender and your current job title (if you choose to share this with us), are processed for internal analysis purposes. By means of analysis based on your entered data, for example, and any other personal information that you provide to bol in the context of your application (including the results of an online assessment), we want to minimize the risk of any bias in our application process and implement other improvements. We have a legitimate interest to use this data to gain insight into our recruitment and application process. Good to know: the information about your gender is only used for analysis purposes and is therefore not used for the evaluation of your application.
What we don’t do
Bol does not collect or process applicants’ special categories of personal data (anything related to health and disability, race and ethnicity, political/religious/philosophical convictions, and so forth) unless you have expressly allowed this.
Bol does not use so called automated decision support during the application process (in which decisions are purely based on automated information processing). And bol does not process information outside of the European Union.
Who has access to your information?
Access to your information is limited to employees in the bol HR department, your potential new manager and employees that are present during your interviews. And these people only see the information they legitimately require for the intended purpose.
When bol uses a selection agency or other third party, for example a CV-screening or assessment agency, you will be informed of this beforehand.
The information you provide when setting up a jobalert will only be processed by the web editors at careers.bol.com.
Finally, we engage external service providers to help us process your application and organize the application process, as well as to help us provide a platform to show us your (coding) skills. These service providers also support us in providing our digital services such as hosting, maintenance and support for the careers.bol.com website. Sometimes they also need personal data for this. We only share the information that is necessary for the service that the external service provider carries out for us. We do not sell your personal information to these service providers or other third parties. And we conclude agreements with all external service providers in which we agree on what they can do with the information.
