CDD Quality Reviewer Contribute to a mature CDD team
How do you make our customers happy?
For 26 years, we’ve been making online shopping easy and reliable. That’s why millions of customers and partners choose bol every day. The way people and businesses pay, do business, and grow is changing rapidly. At the same time, regulations are tightening, and new legislation is coming into play. To continue offering our core services responsibly and safely, we’re strengthening our foundation with financial licenses — our license to operate. This ensures that online shopping will remain fast, secure, and reliable for years to come.
With the introduction of bol Financial Services (bfs), we are integrating payment and financing services into our platform. These entities, which are yet to be licensed, must comply with PSD3 and CCDII. This demands Customer Due Diligence (CDD) processes that are 100% audit-proof. As a CDD Quality Reviewer, you’ll assess the quality of case files, identify trends, and coach the team toward professional maturity. You’ll evaluate whether reviews meet Wwft (anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing act) requirements and quality standards, translate findings into improvements, and ensure colleagues apply our CDD principles consistently. For complex cases, you’ll fulfill a four-eyes role, assessing whether the documentation is audit-proof. In doing so, you’ll help build a future where convenience, security, and innovation go hand in hand.
The biggest challenge
Guiding a team that knows our internal processes inside out into the world of CDD. You have in-depth knowledge that your colleagues still lack. How do you discuss and measure quality without becoming a pure auditor? How do you coach colleagues effectively without hierarchical authority? The portfolio’s complexity is growing, demanding proportional action. Your decisions set the standard for future cases. That takes CDD expertise, coaching skills, and the ability to deliver under time pressure.
What you'll do as a CDD Quality Reviewer
You’ll work on the CDD team that will perform Customer Due Diligence for bfs. The team reports to the Manager of CDD Operations and consists of junior, mid-level, and senior CDD analysts. These analysts know the internal processes well, but the CDD discipline is new to bol. You have high-level expertise in this area. Together with the CDD analysts, you form a partnership that professionalizes the CDD domain and makes “first time right” the standard.
You assess and evaluate the quality of case files with a dual focus on integrity and risk management. You make quality visible by identifying trends and areas for improvement, translating them into actionable feedback, reports, and recommendations.
For critical decisions and complex cases, you implement the four-eyes principle: you review alongside the analyst, ensure that everything has been properly researched, and verify that the documentation is audit-proof.
You coach and guide the team in understanding and applying CDD principles. You do this through knowledge sessions, case studies, and discussing relatable examples. You embed improvements in work instructions and policies. You build bridges with stakeholders, including Compliance, Legal, Fraud, Risk, and product teams, to drive process improvements. And you contribute to the implementation of a new system that puts quality standards front and center. Your key responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate the quality of case files for integrity and risk management
- Implement the four-eyes principle for critical decisions and complex cases
- Translate findings into clear feedback, reports, and recommendations
- Build bridges with stakeholders, including product teams, to drive process improvements
- Coach and guide colleagues: how do we apply CDD principles effectively?
- Contribute to policy development and participate in discussions on guidelines and working methods
- Professionalize the CDD domain and contribute to implementing a new system, including establishing quality standards
Why you can make a difference
You have 5+ years of experience as a CDD/KYC reviewer, analyst, or specialist, preferably including coaching or quality control responsibilities. You’re well-versed in Wwft and relevant integrity legislation. Experience in e-commerce or online platforms is not a hard requirement, but is very welcome. You can make quality tangible and discuss quality constructively, helping teams grow rather than reprimanding them for mistakes. You possess excellent stakeholder skills: you know how to get people on board, convince them, and make an impact without formal hierarchy. You work carefully yet quickly and never lose sight of the big picture, even before processes have been ironed out and precedents have been set.
3 reasons why this is (not) for you
Switch to find out
- - Cool controller You really just want to focus on compliance and consider coaching a necessary evil.
- - No influencer People only cooperate with you under duress. Influencing isn't your thing.
- - Process perfectionist You don't feel at home in an environment where processes are still actively being shaped.
- + Quality coach You combine quality assessment and team development skills to help colleagues achieve CDD maturity.
- + Impactful inspirer You'd rather make an impact by engaging and motivating stakeholders than by issuing instructions.
- + Policy shaper You enjoy shaping policy while processes and frameworks are still in their infancy.
Here's where you'll land
You’ll join the CDD team within bol’s FinTech organization, performing Customer Due Diligence for bol Financial Services. The team is responsible for four core CDD processes: onboarding new customers (identification, verification, and CDD screening), monitoring existing customers (periodic reviews and daily screening), transaction monitoring, and offboarding in response to financial-economic crime. This applies to customers as defined by the Wwft, including partners and consumers, and potentially other bol target groups.
You’ll report to the Manager of CDD Operations and work closely with CDD analysts, Compliance, Transaction Monitoring, and Fraud. The team is building an entirely new CDD capability from 2026 onward — so you’ll be there from the very start. The atmosphere is professional and results-driven: compliance should facilitate innovation, not block it. Your work will have a direct impact on bol and contribute significantly to future payment convenience. This position can be a springboard for career growth within the team, particularly given the planned expansion to 25-40 team members within two years. Do you combine demonstrable CDD expertise with coaching talent? Then this role is made for you.
We take pride in our B Corp certification and strive for continuous improvement every day. Our annual bonus is tied to sustainability goals, and we are committed to equality and equal opportunities for all.
