How do you make our customers happy?

With 48,000 partner sellers that do business on our retail tech platform, bol.com is changing retail to simplify daily life for 13 million customers. We have 33 million products on display and reach peak sales of 700 items a minute. This incredible volume of online interactions generates a wealth of data. As Marketing Data Specialist, you crunch and analyze this customer, market, and channel data, generate insights, and provide actionable recommendations that help us spend our (considerable!) media budget more rationally and more effectively. A high-impact position that puts your analytical, communication, and consulting skills to the ultimate test!

The biggest challenge

The Full-Funnel Marketing Team has a ‘humble’ ambition: to break down the walls between brand and performance marketing so that we can better oversee and manage our entire marketing landscape. What would be the most intelligent and efficient way to spend our media budget? Which channels should we use?

What you do as Marketing Data Specialist

As Marketing Data Specialist, you perform qualitative and quantitative analyses to generate actionable insights. Sometimes ‘upon request’ by business units. Sometimes because you dive into the data on your own initiative (Geronimo!). Either way, you resurface with sharp analyses, persuasive reports, and insightful dashboards that help us to make strategic decisions. You also promote your work among stakeholders. How can they apply your insights? Why should they want to? Help us to accelerate the adoption curve and make changes stick. This calls for a strategic mindset and a strong communication style.

  • Analyze and report on marketing KPIs to inform data-driven decisions that achieve our objectives
  • Develop dashboards and models that provide clear insights and reliable data, so that our marketing management and forecast models perform flawlessly
  • Dive deep into customer, market, and channel data: what are our biggest opportunities to increase the effectiveness of our marketing?
  • Advise and recommend improvements to make better use of our media budget and optimize channel decisions
  • Ensure insights land at the right places in the organization, can be implemented correctly, and that colleagues cherish them
  • You’re also the go-to person for (day-to-day) analytical issues and ‘own’ the Full Funnel Marketing Team’s test & learn environment (culture and tools)
