How do you make our customers happy?

Together with our 46,000 partner sellers, is changing retail to make daily life simpler for 13 million customers. We want to present our customers and partners with a better version of our store each day and make selling and buying increasingly easy. That involves an enormous amount of tech. We develop this tech in-house with about 150 autonomous scrum teams, grouped into several fleets (units of teams) and spaces (functional domains). The Project Manager in charge of each space ensures that our initiatives come to fruition and that we add the business and customer value we set out to achieve. Would you like to take the helm of our incredibly dynamic logistics space?

Your responsibilities

As Project Manager IT, you claim product ownership from an IT perspective. That is to say, you make sure we deliver IT related projects on time & on budget, and that these projects maximize customer and business value. You are guided by an ambitious but (barely) attainable project plan. You succeed because you deploy the right people and resources at the right time and know how to commit and inspire your teams. Your project teams are mostly comprised of colleagues who work on your projects in addition to performing their regular duties. The focus is on impactful projects in the logistics domain. An exciting field because our logistics operation is rapidly growing and includes (but is not limited to) highly automated and mechanized warehouses that are managed with state-of-the-art IT solutions.

It’s up to you to complete your projects in the quickest and most successful way possible, from inception (initiation phase), through elaboration (setting up) and development (building the solution in scrum sprints), to aftercare and closure (transition). You proactively coordinate with all stakeholders every step of the way. For example with business counterparts and external partners, including software suppliers and contractors. We also expect you to help project members excel and further professionalize the project management role. Stimulating and challenging: is a pioneering company that needs to make crucial decisions based on incomplete information whenever speed is of the essence.

  • Manage various high-impact IT projects in the logistics domain
  • Create project schedules and ensure that milestones are met
  • Mobilize people and resources, generate buy-in for your projects and approach
  • Manage project progress and adapt work as required
  • Create the conditions for success, for example, by getting internal stakeholders on board, and adding relevant external partners in the loop (e.g.: software vendors) and committing them
  • Stimulate employee development, including your own ;-)

3 reasons why this is (not) for you

  • - You don't like to share successes No, if you claim every success as your own but blame setbacks on others
  • - You don't see opportunities only limitations No, if your project plans read like a compendium of disclaimers, limitations, reservations, and exclusions
  • - Logistics is not your cup of tea No, if you think ‘logistics’ is a relatively straightforward domain and warehouses are low tech work environments
  • + 4+ years of work experience Yes, if you combine a master’s degree with 4+ years of relevant work experience
  • + Multiple projects at the same time Yes, if you’re a pro at juggling projects and aligning stakeholders
  • + Alert management teams Yes, if you can comfortably alert management teams and directors to potential issues and recommend courses of action

Where you’ll work
