How do you make our customers happy?

When we embarked upon our journey to enrich and enhance the online shopping experience, was ‘just’ one of many digital retailers navigating the pristine online waves. As we gained speed, we significantly broadened our client (~9 million) and product (~16 million) horizons. We also transitioned into a platform. Currently, one in three orders is fulfilled by one of our 24,000 partners.

To keep the ‘partner fleet’ on course, engineers have to make sure partners have access to the right onboarding tools, such as APIs, and that those are well documented. Although we don’t want to denigrate our developers’ writing skills, that’s not exactly their core business. So we’ll gladly lower the gangplank for a Technical Writer to take command of the technical content that makes it easier and more fun for partners to conduct business on

Your responsibilities as a Technical Writer

  • Develop and optimize technical documentation for external techies and/or end users
  • Think: API reference docs, conceptual documentation, developer guides, FAQs, et cetera
  • Design and organize documentation sets for new APIs and software products
  • Proofread and finetune documents written by your colleagues
  • Manage and structure online documentation from the user’s standpoint

As a Technical Writer you will upgrade existing and deploy new content to our partner development center: In close collaboration with in-house developers. And with a keen eye for our partners’ needs and wishes. Impactful work, because the quality of your content determines how quickly new partners can be up & running, and how existing partners experience our platform. It’s up to you to develop a methodology and processes to maintain a clear and consistent tone of voice across all documentation. You know how to present complex technical concepts clearly, without oversimplifying; nuances matter and your target audience consists mainly of other tech-savvy individuals. Whether it’s conceptual documentation, detailed developer guides, API reference docs or FAQs; you always strike the right balance between technical depth and readability.

Where you’ll work

You’ll work closely with a Scrum team within the Retail Platform Space; enablers of external partners. The setting is international. The culture is campus-y, including a game room and soccer field. Despite our size, we poke fun at rigid rules and traditional work structures. Our strength derives from working together as equals and constantly improving each other. After all, you can accomplish great things on your own, but so much more with your colleagues! Given that over 25% of our IT staff consists of internationals, we have plenty of relocation experience.
